A motorist was killed when her car slammed into a guardrail on a Twin Cities highway and then bounced into an SUV as the evening commute was winding down, officials said.
The multi-impact collision occurred about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 694 at Hwy. 10 in Arden Hills, the State Patrol said.
The driver who died was identified by the patrol as Fatuma Yussuf Sharif-Isaack, 21, of Brooklyn Park. The patrol said she was not wearing her seat belt.
Her two passengers, Ayan Ali Hassan, 20, of Fridley and Fatima Mursal Jaamac, 21, of Brooklyn Park, were hospitalized with noncritical injuries, the patrol said.
According to the patrol:
Sharif-Isaack was heading west on I-694 when she crossed from the right lane over to the left shoulder and hit a guardrail. From there, she hit an SUV.
