Driver hits and kills man on mobility scooter in St. Paul, flees the scene, police say

The incident occurred on Feb. 11 near the intersection of Phalen Boulevard and Rose Avenue, police said.

A driver hit and killed a man on a mobility scooter in St. Paul and fled the scene, police said.

The crash occurred about 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 11 near the intersection of Phalen Boulevard and Rose Avenue, according to police.

The man, a 66-year-old St. Paul resident, died the next day at Regions Hospital, police said. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release the man’s name.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the male victim riding a scooter was struck by a vehicle,“ a police statement read. ”The suspect vehicle fled the scene.”

Police say they are looking for a black sedan and are reviewing video from the area in hopes of providing the public with a more specific description.
