Minnesota is closed. Do not leave your home. Reading the newspaper while slurping down coffee? Stay where you are until November. There are snow days (not as many these days), sick days and personal days. Why not construction days?

My scavenger hunt of a commute is now impossible. New detours and cones daily. I need one of those big flipping drones to hoist me up and dangle me to my next destination. I can almost tolerate the smoke but wake me when it’s safe to drive again. Rain on top of construction-related detours. Yes please!

Dew points approach 70 degrees Thursday, meaning yet another sticky adventure awaits. Enough moisture to fuel strong to severe storms: the best chance of hail and damaging winds Thursday and Friday over western Minnesota and the Red River Valley. A wet start Saturday gives way to clearing during the day with highs near 90 degrees. The sun may stay out much of Sunday as well.

That’s iffy. But there’s 100% probability of orange cones.
