Don't forget Buzz Lagos in the soccer kudos

Dr. Bill McGuire is getting deserved credit for saving the existing Minnesota pro soccer franchise and stepping up to the point that the Twin Cities were awarded a Major League Soccer expansion franchise Wednesday.

But one man who should not be forgotten when dishing out kudos: Buzz Lagos. For many years, Lagos was the face of Minnesota soccer, taking the Thunder from an amateur to a professional club and growing the game within the state. Without the since-defunct Thunder bridging the gap between the Kicks and now, I don't think MLS happens in Minnesota.
