Delta tops on-time rankings for US airlines; American Eagle operator Envoy ranks last

Here are the government's rankings of the leading airlines and their on-time performance for January. The federal government counts a flight as on time if it arrives within 14 minutes of schedule.

1. Delta Air Lines, 86.1 percent

2. Hawaiian Airlines, 85.5 percent

3. Alaska Airlines, 84.6 percent

4. Virgin America, 82.2 percent

5. Southwest Airlines, 79.1 percent

6. US Airways, 79 percent

7. American Airlines 76.1 percent

8. United Airlines, 75.4 percent

9. ExpressJet, 74.3 percent

10. SkyWest, 73.4 percent

11. Spirit Airlines, 71.9 percent

12. JetBlue Airways, 71.9 percent

13. Frontier Airlines, 67.1 percent

14. Envoy Air, 60.4 percent

Total for all reporting airlines: 76.8 percent

The department also reported American and US Airways together as 77.4 percent. Both airlines and Envoy Air are owned by American Airlines Group Inc.
