It's not Earth-shattering news due to her place as a backup on the Lynx, and the fact that she missed the first round of the playoffs. But the Lynx are looking at playing their Western Conference finals series against Phoenix without rookie forward/center Damiris Dantas.

Dantas was in Brazil tending to a family matter during the first round of the playoffs. She returned Sunday and was at Lynx practice Tuesday. But the family matter has come up again. Dantas was not at practice Wednesday. It was unclear whether she would return to Brazil. But there is a possibility she might not play in this series.

That said, there is still a slew of All-Stars and former No. 1-overall draft picks in the two team's starting lineups, which promises to make this a very entertaining series.

Still Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve went out of her way to encourage fans to come to Target Center for Sunday's 2:30 p.m. game. The Lynx are doing everything they can to pump up interest in the game, which comes in the middle of Labor Day weekend with the Minnesota State Fair still going on.

"We need their help," Reeve said of the fans. "We need them to make Target Center what it's been all season for us, pushing the 12,000, 15,000 mark gives us a distinct advantage. So if you're in the Twin Cities area on Sunday at 2:30, we need you at Target Center."

A couple other nuggets from today's workout:

--Other than Dantas, everyone else appears in good health for this series. That includes Seimone Augustus and Rebekkah Brunson, two players whose matchups in this series will be huge.

--Reeve said she and her staff learned a lot about Phoenix in the final two regular season games between the two teams. "We learned when we're healthy we're a better team," she cracked.

--Seimone Augustus was asked about the incident between her and Diana Taurasi. Taurasi, frustrated, gave Augustus a shove. Augustus didn't give any ground and the two went face-to-face for a moment before Taurasi gave Augustus a kiss. "That's something where, if I had to take it for the team, I would," Augustus joked. "It was either throw a punch or get a kiss."

That's about all for now. Have a good rest of your day.
