The Twins are looking to avoid a 0-4 start as they open a three game series against the defending World Series champion Royals.

It's sunny but blustery in Kansas City as the Twins come to town after dropping three straight at Baltimore. After failing to generate offense against the likes of Yovani Gallardo and Ubaldo Jimenez, the Twins get Yordano Ventura and powerful fastball.

Maybe that will be a better matchup for the Twins hitters, who struck out 35 times in three games against Orioles pitching.

A couple Twins have some numbers against Ventura. Brian Dozier is 4-for-12 and Eduardo Escobar is 5-for-10. Trevor Plouffe is 3-for-14. Joe Mauer is 1-for-10.

Ervin Santana is on the mound for the Twins after pitching just two innings on Opening Day before rain ruined his night. The Twins didn't hesitate to juggle their schedule to give him tonight's start. It looks like the right move more now that ever, as the squad really needs a win right now.

Will check in after we meet with the manager.
