NEW PRODUCTS St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, announced the U.S. launch of its wireless USB adapter for the Merlin@home transmitter, a system that allows important patient data from an implantable cardiac device to be wirelessly downloaded and securely transmitted via telephone for review by a physician. The new wireless USB adapter enables patients using a Merlin@home transmitter to transmit data to their physician over cellular networks.
Medtronic Inc., Fridley, said that it now offers the new Medtronic M Link cellular accessory, which provides cardiac device patients with an option to securely send information stored in their implanted devices to their clinics via the CareLink Network using cellular signals rather than a telephone land line. This simplified connection to the CareLink Network lets clinicians remotely monitor more patients who are implanted with cardiac devices.
NEW BUSINESS Rimage Corp., Edina, has agreed to supply about $11 million of its recently introduced 5400N disc publishing systems for integration into retail photo labs. Rimage expects to ship about $3 million under this agreement in the second quarter with the balance of the systems scheduled for shipment during the second half of 2010. A multiyear consumable supply and service component is also part of the agreement.
Alliant Techsystems Inc., Eden Prairie, said that its Eagle Industries Unlimited subsidiary has received a delivery order from the U.S. Army to produce Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment (MOLLE II) kits in a new camouflage pattern that the Army chose specifically for the Afghanistan conflict. Eagle will begin delivery of the MOLLE II equipment kits by the end of August to support the Army's operational needs in Afghanistan.
PERFORMANCE Toro Co., Bloomington, said that it now expects year-to-date revenue growth of about 6 percent and second-quarter earnings per share to be about $1.30 to $1.35, up from its previous guidance of about $1.15 per share. Toro now anticipates earnings for fiscal 2010 to be about $2.40 per share on a revenue increase of about 7 percent. The company's prior guidance for fiscal 2010 was about $2.15 on revenue comparable to fiscal 2009.
