MERGERS AND ACQUISITION Ingenix, an Eden Prairie-based health information, technology, consulting and services company, has acquired QualityMetric Inc, a provider of services to help health care companies assess health outcomes as reported by patients themselves. Terms were not disclosed.

NEW BUSINESS GetWireless, a Minneapolis-based distributor of cellular-based products, has reached a North American distribution agreement with Option, a wireless broadband technology company. GetWireless will now be a premier North American distributor for Option's GlobeSurfer III broadband router and the iCON 452 USB modem.

ID Insight, Northfield, has partnered with the city of Duluth to be a trial location for Google Fiber, a new ultra-high-speed broadband network. Duluth residents will now have access to its ID Insight's BroadBand Scout database.

PLR IP Holdings, Minneapolis, owner of the Polaroid brand, signed a five-year licensing agreement with consumer electronics manufacturer Starlight Marketing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Starlight International Holdings, for the United States and Canada. Starlight will develop a range of Polaroid-branded consumer electronics including standalone DVD and Blu-ray players, portable DVD players, e-book readers, iPod docking stations and home theater systems.

NEW PRODUCTS AGA Medical Holdings Inc., Plymouth, has conditional Investigational Device Exemption approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to evaluate the safety and efficacy of its Amplatzer Cardiac Plug to close the left atrial appendage. The trial is designed to demonstrate the device's effectiveness in preventing stroke in atrial fibrillation patients who are eligible to receive Warfarin.
