Debt and equities Hormel Foods Corp., Austin, Minn., announced that its common stock was added to the Standard & Poor's 500 Index after the market closed Tuesday.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS North Central Equity, a Minneapolis-based holding company, announced that its subsidiary, Perham Egg, has acquired the assets of an egg processing business in Perham, Minn. Terms were not disclosed. The business removes the shells from eggs and converts the contents to liquid for use in the baking industry and by processors of dried eggs.

NEW PRODUCTS Digi International, Minnetonka, introduced the ConnectCore 9M 2443 and ConnectCore Wi-9M 2443, the industry's fastest ARM9-based, network enabled embedded core modules.

NEW BUSINESS Alliant Techsystems, Eden Prairie, has been awarded a $14.4 million contract by the Colombian Air Force to modify and deliver three aircraft capable of medical evacuation to Colombia's Health and Social Services Ministry. The ministry will use the aircraft for emergency medical evacuations of civilian and military personnel.

Digi-Key Corp., Thief River Falls, Minn., which distributes electronic components, and BlueRadios Inc. have an agreement for the distribution of BlueRadios' wireless products.

DEBT AND EQUITIES Vital Images Inc., Minnetonka, approved a new share repurchase program authorizing up to 1 million additional shares to be bought on the open market.
