NEW PRODUCTS Medtronic, Inc., Fridley, reported the first enrollment in VITALITY1, the company's postmarket clinical study of its Talent Abdominal Stent Graft for the endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms.

St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, announced European CE Mark approval of its Libra and LibraXP deep brain stimulation (DBS) systems for treating the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, a neurological disorder that progressively diminishes a person's control over body movements and speech. The limited launch of those systems in Europe marks St. Jude Medical's first products in the DBS market.

Digital Angel, South St. Paul, introduced its new r.Tag system, a radio frequency identification technology that allows automatic collection of identification and data in correlation with specific locations. The product is designed for the livestock identification and tracking industry.

Stratasys Inc., Eden Prairie, through its Dimension 3D Printing Group, launched the uPrint Personal 3D Printer (priced at $14,900) at the annual Dimension reseller conference in Anaheim, Calif. Designed for the desktop, uPrint is a desktop-sized 3D printer capable of building durable, accurate models ready for testing. It requires only a 25-by-26 inch footprint and features an 8-by-6-by-6-inch build envelope.,

NEW BUSINESS Alliant Techsystems, Edina, has received an additional $49 million from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island, Ill., for critical modernization projects at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Mo.

PERSONNEL Virtual Radiologic Corp., Minnetonka, appointed Rob Kill chief executive officer. Kill replaces company co-founder Dr. Sean Casey. Kill has been president and chief operating officer since May 2007.
