DIVIDEND Best Buy Co. Inc., Richfield, declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 14 cents per common share payable Oct. 28 to shareholders of record Oct. 7.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Advantage Travel Management, Savage, formed a strategic alliance with Travel Leaders, formerly Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

NEW PRODUCTS Imation Corp., Oakdale, announced the first 6x Blu-ray recordable and Blu-ray recordable double layer media for the U.S. retail market. Imation is also launching a full line of TDK Life on Record Blu-ray disc-cleaning and storage accessories to protect and maintain Blu-ray media.

Medtronic Inc., Fridley, said Wednesday that it launched the Discyphor direct catheter system in the United States, the second-generation catheter system used by physicians to obtain additional information to diagnose discogenic low back pain. The system helps identify which disc is causing a patient's pain.

St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, announced the first patient implant of an Eon Mini, a rechargeable neurostimulator to treat chronic pain of the trunk or limbs and pain from failed back surgery.

Xata Corp., Eden Prairie, added customer-defined reporting capabilities to its core product, XataNet. The self-service reporting tool lets customers use their data within XataNet to create reports tailored to their fleet-operations needs.

PERSONNEL Ceridian Corp., Bloomington, named Albert Bart senior vice president and associate general counsel.

Coolibar Inc., St. Louis Park, named Susan Engel to its board of directors. Engel is a former chairwoman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Lenox Group Inc. (formerly Department 56).

Plato Learning Inc., Bloomington, named John Lewis to its board of directors. Lewis served as CEO of GeoLogic Solutions. The company also announced that Joseph Duffy, Ruth Greenstein and Warren Simmons will resign from the board effective after the board's regularly scheduled December meeting. After the meeting, Plato's board will have seven members, five of whom will be independent.
