NEW BUSINESS Alliant Techsystems Inc., Edina, won a $9 million contract from the Air Force to design a new bomb fuse capable of finding and exploiting the vulnerabilities in hardened targets. The prototype developed over 27 months will compete with one other firm for a production contract worth $250 million.
SurModics Inc., Eden Prairie, said that its Brookwood Pharmaceuticals subsidiary in Birmingham, Ala., has acquired an additional facility in the Birmingham area. The new facility will be used to expand Brookwood's capacity for research and development activities and for clinical manufacturing in support of customer projects.
Digital River Inc., Eden Prairie, has signed an e-commerce agreement with Wizards of the Coast Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc., under which Digital River will provide e-commerce services to support the online marketing and sale of popular Wizards of the Coast software games in North America.
