Stratasys Inc., Eden Prairie, said the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division have granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period in connection with Stratasys' planned merger with Objet Ltd. The all-stock transaction is expected to occur in the third quarter, subject to approval by Stratasys stockholders and other closing conditions.
NEW BUSINESS Nanosys Inc., Palo Alto, Calif., and the optical systems division of 3M Co., Maplewood, will work together to commercialize Nanosys' Quantum Dot Enhancement Film technology. QDEF is a drop-in film that LCD manufacturers can integrate with existing production processes.

The company also promoted Andy Carlin to senior vice president and chief sales officer from vice president and Annie Bloomquist to senior vice president and chief product officer from vice president.
Nystrom Inc., Brooklyn Park, a supplier of products and services for commercial buildings, named Sue Thomas chief executive. Thomas, previously chief operating officer and chief financial officer, succeeds Scott Sustacek as CEO.
