MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Plato Learning, Bloomington, said that shareholders of Archipelago Learning, a software-as-a-service provider of supplemental education products, voted to adopt the acquisition agreement the two companies entered into on March 5. Holders of outstanding shares of common stock of Archipelago Learning will receive $11.10 per share. The transaction became official after regulatory approval and satisfaction of the closing conditions.
NEW BUSINESS 3M Co., Maplewood, said the Department of Defense awarded 3M Health Care a two-year enterprise incentive agreement to provide 3M Littmann Stethoscopes to DoD medical treatment facilities in the U.S., Europe and the Pacific region.
PERSONNEL Regis Corp., Edina, said that it is in discussions with Daniel Beltzman, managing member of Birch Run Capital, regarding the potential for Beltzman to be included on the company's ballot for election to the Regis Board of Directors at the 2012 annual meeting of shareholders. Birch Run and its affiliates own about 10.4 percent of Regis' outstanding shares.
