MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Tonka Bay Equity Partners, Minnetonka, has acquired Quick Cable Corp., a manufacturer of connectors, cable, cable assemblies, and tools for the energy storage industry. Tonka Bay joined with current management, including new President Robert Hoganson, to acquire the company from John Shannon, who'll retain an ownership interest and be a business development adviser. Quick Cable is Tonka Bay's first platform company in its third fund, with $150 million in available capital.

Priority Integrated Marketing, Minneapolis, and Dowden Custom Media of Montvale, N.J., have created BlueSpire Strategic Marketing, a Minneapolis-based company that will continue to focus on clients in the health care and financial industries.

NEW PRODUCTS St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, announced regulatory approval from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the launch of the Trifecta aortic stented, pericardial tissue valve. The first procedures in Japan were performed at Osaka University Hospital and Saitama Medical University International Medical Center. The company also announced the first implant in its Accent MRI pacemaker and Tendril MRI lead IDE study. The study seeks to determine if patients with these devices can safely undergo full-body, high resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.

NEW BUSINESS Rodizio Grill, a Brazilian steakhouse, will open Friday in Maple Grove's the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, in space previously occupied by Smith & Hawken.
