MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Archway, Rogers, a marketing logistics and fulfillment services firm, has acquired Synq Solutions Inc., a privately held provider of marketing fulfillment and print management services with operating facilities in the Atlanta and Las Vegas metropolitan areas. Terms were not disclosed.

NEW PRODUCTS Boston Scientific Corp., Natick, Mass., said that its Ion drug-coated stent system and Taxus Liberté drig-coated stent system have received FDA approval for use in patients experiencing a heart attack.

NEW BUSINESS Shock Doctor, Plymouth, a maker of sports protection equipment, has a multiyear partnership with Carlos Santana of the Cleveland Indians. He joins Ryan Mathews, Percy Harvin, Nick Leddy and Jack Johnson on Team Shock Doctor, the company's group of professional athletes who serve as brand ambassadors.

UnitedHealthcare, a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, invested nearly $23 million in three Los Angeles health centers. UnitedHealthcare bought the tax-exempt revenue bonds of the Help Group for $11.4 million, Gateways Hospital, for $5 million, and St. John's Well Child & Family Center for $5.4 million. In addition, Gateways Hospital and St. John's Well Child & Family Center also received grants of nearly $537,000 and $621,000, respectively, to help pay closing costs. The funds will be used to build new facilities, renovate clinics and help the nonprofits refinance debts at more affordable rates.

3M Co., Maplewood, and Chesapeake Energy Corp. have agreed to collaborate in designing, manufacturing and marketing compressed natural gas tanks for use in the U.S. transportation market. The new tanks developed through the partnership will reduce costs while increasing performance. Less expensive tanks will allow greater market adoption of compressed natural gas as an alternative automotive fuel source.

Healthland, Minneapolis, a provider of health care information technology products for rural community and critical access hospitals, ahas formed a partnership with Imprivata. Under terms of the agreement, Healthland will resell Imprivata's single sign-on and access management technology to provide access to patient data and Healthland products.

Video Guidance, Bloomington, a provider of video conferencing, telepresence and audio-visual technologies and services, is expanding its operations into North Dakota.

PERFORMANCE Xcel Energy Inc., Minneapolis, said it has shut down Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Unit 2 for partial refueling and maintenance. During refueling, reactors typically are out for several weeks, during which the utility purchases replacement electricity from the grid. Unit 1 continues to operate.

Cirrus Aircraft, Duluth, a subsidiary of China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., delivered 89 SR-series aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2011, its highest quarterly delivery since 2008.

DEBT AND EQUITIES Xcel Energy Inc., Minneapolis, declared a quarterly dividend of 26 cents per common share, April 20 to shareholders of record on March 22.

Mocon Inc., Brooklyn Park, declared a quarterly cash dividend of 10.5 cents per share, an increase from 10 cents per share, payable May 18 to shareholders of record on May 4.
