NEW PRODUCTS Uroplasty Inc., Plymouth, has been issued a U.S. patent covering the stimulator used in the Urgent PC Neuromodulation System. The Urgent PC Neuromodulation System is an office-based, non-surgical system used to treat overactive bladder syndrome and the symptoms of urinary urge incontinence, urinary urgency and urinary frequency. The new patent covers the reusable Urgent PC stimulator. When connected to a thin needle electrode near the ankle to access the tibial nerve, the stimulator delivers current to the sacral nerve plexus that controls bladder and pelvic floor function.

Medtronic Inc., Fridley, announced a new U.S. investigational device exemption study to evaluate the accuracy of six-day use in adults with diabetes of its Enlite Sensor, a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology. The study will evaluate Enlite, a glucose sensor for CGM designed to offer improved hypoglycemic detection and comfort compared to current CGM sensors.
