MERGERS AND ACQUISITONSMill City Capital, a private equity firm based in Minneapolis, has completed its acquisition of Union Tractor Ltd., Edmonton, Canada. Union Tractor is an aftermarket provider of parts and services for the off-highway heavy equipment industry. Minneapolis-based investment banking firm Greene Holcomb & Fisher represented Union Tractor and its parent company, Blue Tee Corp., in the transaction. Terms were not disclosed.
NEW PRODUCTSMedtronic Inc., Fridley, has started the U.S. clinical trial of its Symplicity Renal Denervation System for treatment-resistant hypertension. The first patient was enrolled at the Prairie Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, has U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Ilumien system that combines optical coherence tomography and fractional flow reserve technologies on one platform. The system is designed to help physicians improve diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease.
NEW BUSINESSTwo new businesses -- Noodles & Co. and Vitamin Shoppe -- will join Verizon Wireless at the Hamline Retail Center in St. Paul, according to MW Development, the Minneapolis firm that brokered the deal. The center is near planned light-rail stops and a SuperTarget.
