NEW BUSINESSAllete Inc., Duluth, has launched a new company, Allete Clean Energy, that will leverage industry knowledge and innovation to bring clean energy to customers across North America. The new company, a subsidiary of Allete that will operate independently of the corporation's Duluth-based regulated electric utility, Minnesota Power, intends to acquire or develop projects aimed at delivering energy with limited environmental impact.

PERSONNELElectromed Inc., New Prague, has named William Eckles to its board of directors. He is president and CEO of Blue Earth Valley Communications Inc.

TCF Financial Corp., Wayzata, has named William Henak president and chief operating officer of TCF Equipment Finance Inc., an indirect subsidiary of TCF. Henak previously was executive vice president and chief operating officer of TCF Equipment Finance.
