MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONSMidcontinent Media Inc., Sioux Falls, S.D., said Patrick McAdaragh, Dick Busch and Steve Grosser, employees and minority shareholders, have bought out the remaining shares of Midcontinent Media, a privately held company with operations in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota. Midcontinent Media is the managing partner and 50 percent owner of Midcontinent Communications, a cable and broadband company, and owns 100 percent of Midco Connections, a customer-contact center business in Sioux Falls that serves the direct marketing industry. McAdaragh, president and chief executive officer; Busch, chief operating officer, and Grosser, chief financial officer, will continue in their current roles.

NEW BUSINESSAppliance Recycling Centers of America Inc., St. Louis Park, said that Northern Indiana Public Service Co., a division of NiSource Inc., has selected the company to provide refrigerator and freezer recycling services for the utility's appliance recycling program.

PERSONNELNavarre Corp., New Hope, a distributor and publisher of computer software, named J. Reid Porter chief operating officer and chief financial officer and named Ward Thomas president of business services and development. Thomas previously was senior director of North American Sales at Trend Micro.
