Minnetonka-based Communications Systems Inc., a provider of broadband network solutions, has acquired Patapsco Designs Ltd. of the United Kingdom.
Patapsco, a privately held company, makes a range of telecommunication and data communication products for enterprise, system integrators, carriers, and governmental organizations.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Patapsco will be merged with Communications Systems' Transition Networks business unit, which distributes telecom hardware through resellers in more than 50 countries.
"Patapsco's product line is a strategic addition for Transition Networks in expanding its product offering to the service provider market. Patapsco has a strong line of existing products that we can immediately leverage in Transition Networks' customer and distribution network around the world" said William Schultz, president and CEO of Communications Systems.
