The Twins have battered around Cleveland pitching in the first two games of their series, scoring 22 runs and pounding out 33 hits — including four home runs from rookie sensation Max Kepler.
Minnesota is still just 42-64 on the season, but the Twins' offensive surge recently — and particularly in these last couple of games — generated some hyperbole from the Cleveland Plain Dealer (as you can see by the cover of the sports section this morning).
Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth and the rest of the 1927 Yankees squad that went 110-44 *probably* compare favorably to this year's Twins. But you can't blame the folks in Cleveland for equating the two.
