Origin: Bite Squad's parent company, Kasa Capital, was founded in Minneapolis in 2008 by Kian Salehi, 32, and Arash Allaei, 33. They buy or create companies for consumers with technological flair. Kasa had more than $10 million in revenue last year.

Businesses: Bitesquad.com, Giftsquad.com, catering, CrowdCut.com and other e-commerce sites.

Markets: Twin Cities, Seattle, Las Vegas and a fourth by year's end.

Local delivery times: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Gift orders can be placed up until 8 p.m. to be delivered same day.
