A three-alarm fire that sent one Minneapolis woman to the hospital on Monday afternoon originated in a third-floor bedroom, according to a Tuesday release by the Minneapolis Fire Department. The cause of the fire was undetermined.

When firefighters arrived at the three-story building at 920 E. 19th St. at about 4:15 p.m., they found flames shooting from two windows on the third floor. The fire was highly visible to rush-hour commuters on Interstate 94.

The apartment building had 19 occupied units. The Red Cross was called to the scene to provide assistance to all of the occupants.

The woman in the third-floor apartment where the fire started suffered possible smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital. No one else was injured.

An "undetermined" fire is defined "when cause cannot be proven to an acceptable level of certainty."
