Hutchinson Technology, Hutchinson, Minn., named Mark Jelkin vice president of engineering. Jelkin joined the company in 1988 and has been the company's director of engineering and program development since 2006. He received his bachelor's and master's degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

NorthMarq Capital, Bloomington, named Jon Miller vice president of production for its Minneapolis office. Miller joined NorthMarq in 2011 and has worked for Morgan Stanley on the CMBS capital markets desk.

Widseth Smith Nolting named Brian Carlson business development specialist. Carlson was a business development manager for the Samuels Group and has worked for Knutson Construction and Cemstone Products Co. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.

Beacon Bank, Shorewood, named Cathy Haukedahl senior vice president and relationship development officer/team leader. Haukedahl worked for Flagship Bank Minnesota, M&I Bank and Excel Bank. She is a past board chairwoman for the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce and belongs to the Eden Prairie AM Rotary Club.

Jackson Lewis named Brian Benkstein shareholder. Benkstein was a shareholder at Felhaber Larson and has worked for AVIV Health Care. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and received his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law.

Compass Capital Management, Minneapolis, named Christopher Kelley portfolio manager. Kelley was vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a hedge fund technical specialist.

The International Law Office and Lexology gave Charles Maier the Client Choice award in the litigation category for Minnesota. Charles Maier is a principal at Gray Plant Mooty.

The St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation gave Scott Burns the HERBIE award. Burns is the chief executive and co-founder of GovDelivery.

Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota named Martin Bassett, Paul Marvin, Bruce Shay and Thomas Tefft to the corporate board. Bassett is president and chief executive of the Walman Optical Co. Marvin is vice president of sales at Marvin Windows and Doors. Shay is executive vice president at Securian Financial Group. Tefft is senior vice president and president of neuromodulation at Medtronic. Children's Foundation named Scott Gill, Irvin Kessler and Charles Maxwell Jr. to the board.

Special Olympics Minnesota named Brandon Sawalich to the board. Sawalich is a senior vice president at Starkey Hearing Technologies.

YouthCARE, Minneapolis, named Stephanie Haddad, Denise Johnson, Jeff Proulx and Eliot Searls to the board.
