Authorities are investigating after a woman’s body was found Saturday morning in Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Richfield police requested help from the water patrol around 10:47 a.m. after a caller reported a body. The body was found about 10 yards from a walking trail in the southwest area of the lake, the Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office and crime lab responded, and the body was recovered using a small watercraft.

Officials said the woman had no identification. The medical examiner’s office will determine her cause of death and her identity.
