A body found in a New Prague field Tuesday morning is suspected to be that of a man reported missing earlier in the week.

Police located the body at about 11 a.m. with the help of a drone, according to a news release from New Prague police.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) had earlier identified the missing man as Logan Sampson, 24. Sampson was last seen at 1:30 a.m. Sunday near Phillips Parkway in New Prague.

He reportedly left his home near the 600 block of Bernas Lane on foot. Authorities had asked residents to check their security cameras to help in the search.

“We are deeply grateful for the combined efforts of all agencies, partners, and community members who assisted in the search and supported the family during this difficult time,” the New Prague Police Department said in a statement.

No further information about the investigation was immediately available Tuesday.
