Beasley out tonight vs. Magic, Johnson and Brewer both in

Small forward out until at least Friday because of a bruised hip

November 3, 2010 at 10:27PM

Michael Beasley won't play tonight in Orlando because of that bruised left hip sustained last night in Miami.

Rookie Wes Johnson will start in his place at small forward and Corey Brewer gets inserted at shooting guard for Wayne Ellington because Kurt Rambis said he wants more energy out of his starting five.

Beasley said he couldn't watch replays of his fall under the basket in the second quarter of that 129-97 loss to the Heat.

He also said he wanted to play tonight -- and could have for himself, but his limited mobility would have hurt the team -- but that Rambis and the team's medical staff told him not to push such an injury this early in the season.

Beasley warmed up and shot before tonight's game but will not be in uniform.

Maurice Ager will be activated instead.

Beasley said he's hopeful he'll play Friday against Atlanta.
