Heartfelt donation: The 66-year-old entertainer has given $5 million to endow a research and education program on women's heart disease at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The L.A. hospital announced the new Barbra Streisand Women's Cardiovascular Research Education Program this week. Streisand said women must get involved in reducing heart disease risks.

Show named: The long-hyped Cirque du Soleil-Criss Angel production has a name. Producers say "Criss Angel Believe" will open Sept. 12 at the Luxor on the Las Vegas Strip. Previews begin Sept. 1. Producers say the show takes its name from magician Harry Houdini, who is said to have designated a code word -- believe -- for communicating with him after his death.

Out of ICU: Grammy-winning Tejano singer, less than a month after being severely injured in a bus crash, is now able to stand and sit up, eat and talk with his family, his doctors said Friday. His recovery has gone so well that he was expected to be moved out of intensive care Friday and could be out of the hospital in Houston several weeks. He is listed in fair condition.
