Augustus' status for tonight to be a game-time decision

Bursitis in her right knee could keep Augustus out of her second straight game

It will ultimately be a game-time decision. But, talking with Seimone Augustus, it sounds like there isn't a great chance she will play tonight when the Lynx host Washington at Target Center.

"We'll see when I get here tonight, when I try to warm it up," Augustus said about her left knee after Friday's shootaround, which Augustus watched from the sidelines. Augustus has been trying to play through the pain of bursitis since last Sunday's home loss to Phoenix. Augustus played in a victory in Los Angeles Tuesday but missed Wednesday's game in Phoenix.

The bursitis, which is also affecting her hamstring, is not related to the right knee soreness that kept Augustus out of a few practices earlier this season.

The only real treatment is ice and rest. And then the question becomes whether to try to push it and risk further inflammation or let it calm down to the point where it won't be an issue going forward. The latter path would likely preclude Augustus from playing tonight.

That's about all for now. I'll get back to you before the game.
