Minnesota State Moorhead doesn't mind waiting until the last second for a victory.

Senior quarterback Jake Hodge hooked up with junior wide receiver Cory Ambrose on a 15-yard touchdown pass with no time remaining on the clock, giving the Dragons a wild 30-28 victory over Concordia (St. Paul) in an NSIC matchup Saturday at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul. The play capped a six-play, 94-yard drive that took 28 seconds.

The Golden Bears (0-2 overall, 0-2 NSIC) had regained the lead, 28-24, on an 11-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Ben Schramski to sophomore wide receiver Vantwon Melton with 1 minute, 31 seconds left. Schramski completed 14 of 29 passes for 264 yards and two TDS, and also scored on a 1-yard run.

Hodge connected on 22 of 39 attempts for 330 yards and two TDS, both coming in the fourth quarter. Senior running back Zayne Medhaug added 100 yards on 16 carries and two TDS for the Dragons (2-0 overall, 2-0 NSIC).

Minnesota State Mankato 27, Northern State 10: Senior tailback Connor Thomas ran for 173 yards on 30 carries and two TDs as the No. 1-ranked Mavericks (2-0, 2-0) downed the Wolves (0-2, 0-2).

Minnesota-Duluth 48, Wayne State 7: The ninth-rated Bulldogs (1-1, 1-1) bounced back from their opening loss by overwhelming the Wildcats (1-1, 1-1). Quarterback Drew Bauer passed for three TDs.

Augustana 41, St. Cloud State 27: The Vikings' (2-0, 2-0) passing combination of quarterback Trey Heid to wide receiver Charlie Hayes overwhelmed the Huskies (1-1, 1-1). The duo, who were also tough to stop as prep teammates at Lakeville North, hooked up on four TD passes (3, 11, 22 and 33 yards). Heid completed 11 of his 18 passes to Hayes for 266 yards. Heid, who completed 18 of 31 passes for 394 yards, also caught a 5-yard TD pass from Matt Heller.

Winona State 38, Minot State 7: Junior Jack Nelson completed 19 of 33 passes for 303 yards and three TDs in the Warriors' (1-1, 1-1) easy win. Sophomore kicker Carter McCauley, who had three field goals, booted a school-record 54-yarder in the fourth quarter.

Southwest Minnesota State 34, Bemidji State 30: Nate Huot caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Blake Gimbel with 21 seconds remaining, lifting the Mustangs (2-0, 2-0) over the Beavers (0-2, 0-2).

Upper Iowa 34, Mary (N.D.) 16: Quarterback Dimitri Morales hooked up with wide receiver Jarred Edmonds on three TD passes in the Peacocks' (2-0, 2-0) win. Morales completed 36 of 59 passes for 446 yards and four TDS.

Sioux Falls 45, Minnesota-Crookston 21: Junior quarterback Luke Papilion threw five TD passes in the Cougars' (2-0, 2-0) triumph. He was 17-for-34 for 244 yards.
