Almost, again: Wolves lose 135-128 at Phoenix in OT

Wolves lose 14th consecutive game, with one more game left this season

I'm up late here Monday working on a season-ending package that will run in Wednesday's paper, the morning of that night's season finale.

So I'll forego my usual postgame blog and throw up the link here for Monday night's game story from an overtime loss at Phoenix in which Michael Beasley missed a free throw that would have given the Wolves the lead with eight seconds left in regulation time.

When the game finally slipped away in the final two minutes of overtime, Beasley's frustrations came bubbling out when he blew up at teammate Anthony Tolliver after Beasley (26 points) wanted the ball and the big shot and the Wolves turned it over on a 24-second clock violation without ever getting off a shot.

Details are included in the game story.

So, too, is more on the decision that awaits the Wolves concering Rambis' future.

After Saturday's loss at Denver, I blogged that it was a pick 'em whether Rambis would stay or go.

Now my instincts are telling me it's not nearly that.

This team very well could end the season with a 15-game losing streak and have fallen a game behind Cleveland -- that's right, the team that lost a NBA record 26 consecutive games this season -- for the league's worst record.

I just don't see how he survives.

David Kahn will meet with the media Wednesday morning at Target Center.

I doubt there will be any revelations out of that gathering and I doubt the Wolves will move as quickly as the Wild did in announcing Monday morning that Todd Richards was fired, but I'm betting something's coming sometime soon after Wednesday's season finale.
