Alex Wimmers has arrived from Class AAA Rochester, and lefthander Randy Rosario was expected to arrive during the game as his flight was diverted due to storms, which made him miss his connection to Los Angeles.

Third baseman Miguel Sano is back in the lineup after missing two games because of illness. He ran in the outfield early Thursday afternoon and went through a full pre-game routine.

Twins manager Paul Molitor batted Sano in the cleanup spot behind Joe Mauer. "It changes how we look," Molitor said. "On the field and, certainly, in our lineup."

A smiling Rod Carew visited the team before the game and delivered a moving speech in the clubhouse. Carew is on the comeback trail after having heart and kidney transplants in December. Plans are in the works for him to visit the Twin Cities later in the season.

Alex Meyer, Ricky Nolasco, Ben Revere, Shane Robinson and Deolis Guerra ready to go against their former squad.
