Albert Pujols returns to Los Angeles for further evaluation on sore left foot

OAKLAND, Calif. — Angels slugger Albert Pujols returned to Los Angeles on Saturday morning for further testing on his ailing left foot.

"This is sorer than anything he's dealt with," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We'll just see what happens."

Scioscia would not address if Pujols could miss the rest of the season, or at the least, go on the disabled list.

"He's sore," Scioscia said. "We'll see what's going on."

Pujols has been dealing with plantar fasciitis all season. He re-injured his foot running to first base after singling in the ninth inning on Friday night.

Pujols has served as the Angels' designated hitter for most of the year. He is hitting .258 with 17 home runs and 64 RBIs.
