Albert Lea's SoyMor facilities acquiredAn Iowa company said it has completed the asset purchase of Albert Lea-based SoyMor Biodiesel LLC and SoyMor Cooperative, a move that will result in 20 new jobs at facilities in the southern Minnesota town. Ames-based Renewable Energy Group, the nation's largest biodiesel producer, said the acquisition includes a biodiesel plant and soy lecithin facility assets in exchange for common stock and assumption of liabilities. Terms of the deal were not revealed. The 30 million gallon-a-year facility has been idle since 2008.

Midwest Monitoring purchase is completeA Utah company that provides electronic monitoring services has completed its purchase of Midwest Monitoring & Surveillance Inc. of Fairmont, Minn. SecureAlert Inc. of Sandy, Utah -- which already owned 53 percent of Midwest Monitoring's stock -- said Wednesday it completed its acquisition of the remaining 47 percent of the company for $2.5 million in cash payments and restricted shares of stock. SecureAlert provides "intervention technologies" to observe and track offenders in their car, home or office.
