Courtney Dauwalter hasn’t gotten enough road time after all.
The ultramarathon trail running star from Hopkins, who famously came back home earlier this month to try the streets of the Twin Cities Marathon, had so much fun in Minnesota that she said she is doing another road race this year.
Dauwalter, 40, ran the Twin Cities Marathon on Oct. 5 in 2 hours, 49 minutes, knocking out an impressive top-10 finish among women.
She announced on social media Thursday to her 709,000 followers that she so “lovedddd” the race through the metro that she wants to take what she learned to the California International Marathon on Dec. 7, in the Sacramento area.
“I’m looking forward to having a bit more time to prepare and I’m excited to take what I learned during the first one to build some momentum for the next,” she posted.
A Twin Cities Marathon spokesperson said organizers are ”glad to be part of her journey.”
“Her charisma will likely bring road runners to the trails, and trail runners to the pavement,” said Charlie Mahler. “It’s all running after all.”
Dauwalter has proved in her dominant mountain races and again with her crossover to pavement several days ago that for her, the sky’s the limit.
