ST. PAUL, Minn. - Office products makers 3M Co. and Avery Dennison Corp. said Friday that they have resolved patent infringement lawsuits filed against each other related to certain reflective sheeting products used on traffic signs, pavement markings and other traffic control products.
Pasadena, Calif.-based Avery Dennison said the litigation began when St. Paul, Minn.-based 3M charged that Avery Dennison's OmniCube products infringed its patents and sought a preliminary injunction to prevent it from selling those products.
The court denied 3M's request. After Avery Dennison filed its own lawsuits, the parties agreed to dismiss all three cases, Avery Dennison said.
Avery Dennison said it will continue to sell its OmniCube products.
3M shares closed at $106.31 on Thursday, while Avery Dennison finished at $43.07 per share. U.S. stock markets were closed Friday in observance of Good Friday.
