The Wild used an emergency recall to bring Matt Read from Iowa on Friday morning.

Read is insurance since Zach Parise has a bruised foot. Parise was on the ice for the team's 11 a.m. practice at Tria Rink, however. He was skating with center Luke Kunin and right winger Kevin Fiala and showed no signs of being hampered during fast-paced drills.

Other lines are Jason Zucker-Eric Staal-Jordan Greenway; Ryan Donato-Joel Eriksson Ek-Pontus Aberg; and Marcus Foligno-Eric Fehr-J.T. Brown/Read.

Read, a former Bemidji State winger, has 15 goals and 16 assists in 50 games in the American Hockey League.

Parise suffered a foot injury while blocking a Jacob Trouba shot early in Tuesday's 3-2 victory in Winnipeg. He missed practice Thursday, although coach Bruce Boudreau promised he would be back Friday. Parise did not miss any time in the game after the injury.

The Wild leaves for Calgary right after practice and plays the Western Conference-leading Flames on Saturday night at the Saddledome.

Read, 32, played in five games for the Wild this season. In 442 NHL games, most of them in eight seasons with the Flyers, he has 87 goals and 100 assists.
