More than 19 months after a dozen exotic cars were cited for topping 100 miles per hour one spring afternoon on a Twin Cities interstate, the last among the dozen has resolved his case.

Justin M. Krueger, 25, of Beach, N.D., pleaded guilty to misdemeanor speeding last week in Hennepin County District Court in connection with being in a pack of luxury sports cars that left Morrie's Luxury Auto on April 23, 2016, that headed out on westbound I-394 between Louisiana Avenue and Hwy. 169.

The plea deal calls for Krueger to pay a $500 fine and $75 in fees. He will have 28 days of a 30-day jail sentenced stayed, with the remaining two days satisfied by community service. He also will be on probation for one year.

In exchange for specifically admitting to driving more than 10 mph over the speed limit, the prosecution agreed to drop the more serious misdemeanor counts of reckless driving and careless driving.

Of the 12 drivers, seven pleaded guilty to zipping and weaving through traffic for miles, while five won dismissals. Among the models driven that spring afternoon were Lamborghini, Maserati and McLaren.

Social media sizzled for some time after the drivers were ticketed. Some commenters believed law enforcement was too heavy-handed, while others were outraged by the pack's behavior and viewed them as among the privileged elite.

Krueger was among some of the drivers who had made it onto westbound Hwy. 12, which I-394 becomes farther west, and then doubled back eastward before a state trooper pulled him over in his 2009 Dodge Viper and others in their pricey rides.

Many of the drivers ticketed belonged to MN Exotics and Supercars, an invitation-only club in the Twin Cities that touts itself as "one of the most exclusive" for high-end cars in Minnesota.

The head of the club, 44-year-old Swen Corbin, of Minnetonka, pleaded guilty in August to speeding.

The State Patrol said there were roughly two dozen fancy sports cars that first left the auto dealership.
