This weekend's Zombie Pub Crawl in the Twin Cities has led to at least one cancellation of a theater performance. The Saturday show of "Summer and Smoke," directed by Randy Reyes at Theatre in the Round Players, has been scotched because of the expected outbreak of drunken undead.

The Tennessee Williams drama stars Tara Lucchino, Casey Hoekstra and Joanna Harmon. Lucchino is a Penn State grad while Harmon and Hoekstra are both alums of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA program.

Other venues in Minneapolis' West Bank neighborhood, a ZPC hotspot, are not fearing for their lives. At Mixed Blood Theatre, Jack Reuler's production of "Next to Normal" will be go on as normal Saturday. That effort stars Aditi Brennan Kapil as a mother with tragic grief and Thomas Jones II as her husband.

At the Southern Theater, Karen Charles' Threads Dance Project (below) will present its "Dance Rhapsody" program, which includespost-performance talkbacks on Saturday and Sunday.
