MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police officers are celebrating the graduation of teens who have completed their youth mentorship program.

The program was started by Minneapolis School Resources Officer Dennis Milner. The vision is to prepare teenage males, ages 15 through 18, to be responsible adults.

During the weeklong program, the teens were coached in conflict resolution, anger management, making good personal choices, and community leadership.

Milner believes reaching out to kids at this age can help give them skills they need for a successful, productive future.

The graduation ceremony is at 1 p.m. Friday at the Roosevelt High School auditorium.
