Could be fun. Given the sophisticated tools available to the animator and the charmingly crude style of the originals, though, it'll look quite different. In the literary genre:

Speaking as a Holmes fan, that's great,but it's not as if no one else has been doing Sherlock stories. The Twin Cities' own Larry Millett has been writing crackling yarns for years, and there's a new novel called "Sherlockian" which - well, hard to describe, but it would make a marvelous movie. With Robert Downey Jr. in a dual role as the great detective AND a super-smart dog!
