Very early in June I lost my youngest sister, Patty Ann. She was labelled as a child with Downs Syndrome. But as one of her favorite t-shirts said." Label jars not people".
She was my family's shining star and a true example of God's grace. She brought us joy, laughter and so many blessings. She showed us empathy for those who are different, taught us about courage, love, and that public display of affection was totally acceptable and necessary.
Several years ago she discovered that I was the oldest and that she was the youngest. And so we had new names for each other. Hey youngest, we miss you, we love you dearly and the Christmas stars will shine so much brighter this year. Love ya, Oldest.
