Former Gov. Arne Carlson takes a few pops at former Gov. Tim Pawlenty on his blog and has joined Twitter

Add former Gov. Arne Carlson to the list of pols on social media.

Carlson, Minnesota's governor from 1991 to 1999, is on Twitter at GovArne and is blogging at Governor Arne Carlson.

In his most recent post, Carlson, a Republican, called for more scrutiny of presidential candidates, like former Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

"How many of these want-to-be's have actually balanced their budgets without massive utilization of debt, "fee increases" and accounting shifts? How many truly were forces of creative change that the overall quality of life and managed toward a defined goal that reflected the best in our society?"

As current Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton frequently reminds, Pawlenty left the state with a $6.2 billion deficit.
