Yes, we are going to watch the ESPYs

Here's Chip and Judd's plan for monitoring the ESPY awards this evening in Los Angeles.

July 14, 2010 at 9:39PM

It isn't my first choice -- and I'm guessing Chip isn't too excited either -- but we'll both be watching the ESPY awards this evening on ESPN in order to monitor the movements of Brett Favre.

Favre is going to present the Arthur Ashe Courage honor, is nominated for four awards and, most importantly, almost certainly will be stopped on the red carpet in Los Angeles for a comment or two about his plans for 2010. Honestly, I'd be shocked if Favre says anything about whether he will play but we'll be watching.

Chip will be updating the blog and I'll be working on a story for the newspaper. The red carpet show is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m. and the awards show will go from 8 to 10 p.m. In other words, those are four hours of our lives we won't ever get back.

The good news is if you don't want to watch -- isn't "Rescue Me" on tonight? -- just check the Access Vikings blog for updates.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
