NEW YORK — The New York Yankees have reinstated shortstop Eduardo Nunez from the 60-day disabled list and put him in the starting lineup Saturday against Baltimore.

The Yankees also placed right-hander David Phelps on the 15-day disabled list because of a strain in his right forearm.

Nunez had been on the 60-day DL because of a strain on his left side. He was set to bat eighth against the Orioles. He hit .200 in 27 games for the Yankees before being injured. Nunez got three hits for Double-A Trenton on Friday night.

Phelps is 6-5 with a 5.01 ERA this season. An MRI showed the strain.

The Yankees also transferred first baseman Mark Teixeira to the 60-day disabled list. He's out for the season with an injured right wrist.
