Adam Wynia, a professional from Active Golf Training, shot 4-under-par 68 to lead the Minnesota State Open Championship after the first of three rounds at Bunker Hills Golf Club on Friday.

Also in that group are amateurs Travis Ross from Grand Forks CC and Tom Jenkins from Sundance GC.

In all, 38 players in the 156-player field shot par or better on a perfect day to score. The field will be cut to the lowest 60 and ties after Saturday's round, with the final round coming Sunday.

Wichita beats Saints Ryan Patterson hit a two-run homer and Nick Singleton gave up only one run and five hits in 61/3 innings to lead the Wichita Wingnuts to a 6-2 victory over the St. Paul Saints in Wichita, Kan., on Friday.
