Writer Louise Erdrich meets with Michelle Obama

Minneapolis writer one of 22 mentors chosen for Women's History Month

First Lady Michelle Obama will meet today at the White House with 22 notable women--including Minneapolis writer Louise Erdrich --to highlight the importance of mentoring for girls.

The women will visit Washington D.C. schools today adn then meet with 120 schoolchildren tonight, to talk about the importance of pursuing one's dream in life, and the role mentoring can plan.

The full list of 22 mentors is below. (And is just me? Or is the list pretty heavy with actors and models?)

Miri Ben-Ari, Grammy Award winning violinist.

Dana Born, Dean of Faculty, United States Air Force Academy.

Ambassador Nancy Brinker, founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, former U.S. Ambassador to Hungary, and former U.S. Chief of Protocol for President George W. Bush.

Geena Davis, actor, and founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media.

Dominique Dawes, Olympic gold medalist and co-chair of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition.

Louise Erdrich, author of "Plague of Doves," a Pulitzer finalist, and many other works of fiction, nonfiction and poetry.

Judith Jamison, dancer and choreographer.

Rashida Jones, actor.

Michelle Kwan, figure skater and member of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.

Nina Lederman, Senior Vice-President of Series Programming and Development for Lifetime Networks.

Ledisi, singer and songwriter.

Lisa Leslie, Olympic Gold medalist and former professional basketball player.

Vanessa Minnillo, actor and model.

Ellen Ochoa, astronaut and deputy director of NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Abbe Raven, President and CEO of A&E Television Networks.

Tracee Ellis Ross, actor and model.

Anna Deavere Smith, playwright, actor and professor of Performance Studies at New York University.

Hilary Swank, actor

Kerry Washington, actor and member of the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities.

Ali Wentworth, comedienne, actor and author.

Sherrie Westin, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Sesame Workshop.

Alfre Woodard, actor and founder of Artists for a New South Africa.
