The world's largest touring tent was raised Thursday on a site that straddles Golden Valley and St Louis Park. Linda Loomis, mayor of Golden Valley, and St Louis Park mayor Jeff Jacobs were both in attendance, as was "Cavilia" creator and company founder Normand Latourelle.

"It's real honor -- it's not everyday that I get to stand between two mayors," said Latourelle, chuckling.

The 2,000-seat tent was raised on a 16-acre site Golden Valley and St Louis Park. It is for an extravanganza that combines horse show and circus, all with virtual props.

"Cavalia" features dozens of horses charging full-speed across the stage while acrobats sail above and between them. There's also trick riding and dressage.

"Cavalia" opens Sept. 21 and runs thru Oct. 2. Call 1-800-725-0112 for info and tickets or online at www.cavalia.net.
